Ribery, who remains in stellar form for Bayern Munich this season, netted 11 goals and contributed 19 assists to the Bavarians' Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal and Champions League triumph last term.
"[Ribery and Ronaldo] both deserve to win it," Real Madrid assistant coach Zidane told RMC.
"But I would give it to Franck for what he did this year and especially the three major trophies he has won.
"The problem is there is a guy [Messi] who has 55 goals."
Meanwhile, Zidane offered support for misfiring Los Blancos striker Karim Benzema, who has netted twice his campaign.
"When a football player is down, it is always difficult. You lose some confidence, freshness. However, he will never lose his qualities. He never gives up!"
Zidane, with 108 caps for Les Bleus, was thrice named Fifa World Player of the Year during his decorated playing career [from 1989-2006].
