Zapata takes over from Rosslee

The Argentinean has signed a six-month contract, with club owner Mario Morfou saying: “I’m delighted that Rolo is joining us to coach the first team squad. His international experience and winning attitude can benefit our organization.”

Zapata guided Nigerian club Sunshine Stars to the CAF Confederation Cup this season, and has also worked with the USA Olympic Development Program in New York.

“People say there are winners and losers in life,” Zapata says. “But typically, it’s more like this: there are winners, and there are people who would like to be winners but don’t know how to do it.

“Intelligent and talented people who are motivated can learn how to become winners if they have someone who will teach them.”

Aces have only managed three wins, three draws and seven loses in the National First Division this season, leaving them in 11th place after 13 games.

“I need to set short-term goals and strategic priorities. Situations and circumstances change so quickly in football. We can win if we work smart and hard enough.”
