Some of Warri Wolves' home games this season has been marred by violence from their fans, directed at visiting teams.
In their Week 30 game against Enyimba, fans of the Delta State-owned club disrupted the match by invading the pitch and beating up officials and travelling fans of Enyimba.
Apart from severe injuries suffered by Enyimba's cameraman Victor Obisike; whose camcorder was smashed to the ground, musical instruments of the supporters club as well as a digital camera belonging Enyimba's Media Officer, Farriel Allaputa were also allegedly destroyed.
Also in another Warri Wolves home game against Rising Stars, a fan of the home side made his way into the pitch to beat up a player of the visiting team who subsequently abandoned the match as a result.
To act a deterrence, the NFF have now fined Warri Wolves a total of N10.5 million, which include; a fine of N5 million payable to the NFF before the last match of the season, a compensatory damage of N2.5 million to Enyimba's cameraman Victor Obisike and the sum of N3,000,000 for the match against Rising Stars which the NFF has ordered to be replayed at a later date.
The points from the restive game between Warri Wolves and Enyimba had previously been awarded to Enyimba. However, that decision has been reversed.
