Jelusic identifies Celtic shortcoming

Celtic ended 2017 in sixth place on the table with 20 points from 14 games following a 1-1 draw with visiting SuperSport United on Wednesday.

Phunya Sele Sele, who have scored 13 goals and conceded as many, will resume their campaign against Golden Arrows at Dr Molemela Stadium on January 7.

“We still have one game less that we are going to play next year. So that's a chance for us to take something and improve our position,” Jelusic said.

“But our goal is all the time try to do our best and to move to the highest position possible.”

The Serbian is gearing up for a busy start to the new year.

“It is a short break and we have a short time to recover our players and refresh them because our next game is on January 7. From there until February 3 we will have six games inbetween, so it will be a difficult period for us,” Jelusic said.

“But we must use this break from December 27 to prepare our team as much as we can to be ready for the games in January.

“We need to improve our game in the final third, we should score more goals. Even against SuperSport we had three chances and we didn't use it. If we can improve there we can get better results.”
