Former Mamelodi Sundowns and Wits University winger Reagan Noble and University of Pretoria left-back Marc van Heerden trained with Usuthu for a week.
According to Usuthu manager James Dlamini, the duo impressed the technical staff of Clive Barker and Neil Tovey.
“Yes, they were assessed closely by our coaches for a week. They have since been told that a decision will be made in a week’s time.
“They have been at training as part of preparations for next season. Having depth in the team will help us compete better,” Dlamini added.
Noble was playing his football for First Division Inland Stream side FC Cape Town and could work well with Tovey, under whom he played at Mamelodi Sundowns some time a go.
Usuthu have been using right footed Nhlanhla ‘Shakes’ Zwane in the left-back position for the past season and the arrival of natural left-back Van Heerden could solve their problem in that position.
