UEFA ban six Malta youth players


The UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body’s investigation in seven of the national team’s players related to two European Under-21 Championship matches, against Montenegro on 23 March 2016 and the Czech Republic on 29 March 2016.

Two of the accused, Emanuel Briffa and Kyle Cesare, were handed life bans from all football-related activities.

The other players are Samir Arab (2 year ban), Ryan Camenzuli (1 year 6 months), Llywelyn Cremona (12 months), Luke Montebello (12 months).

Matthew Cremona, meanwhile, was also investigated but ultimately cleared by UEFA.
