Trigo gets helping hand

Trigo picked a groin injury at Mamelodi Sundowns 20 months ago and has been sidelined ever since. Now recovered, he is at BidVest Wits try trying to get back into shape.

“I think I have now made commendable progress since arriving here in September. The positive side is that I am getting fitter with each passing training session. Training with other players has genuinely been helpful to my cause as it makes competitive spirit come back again. Staying positive is the mainstay of my life these days,” he tells Kick Off.

“At the rate I am moving I think I will be able cope in the PSL again. After training sessions I always stay behind to do extras to accelerate my rate of catching up with the other guys who are already super fit and playing regularly. Being around very fit players also helps gauge my progress,” says Trigo.

“I am really grateful to Roger. The fact that I am still training here means that he still has interest in helping me out. He is assessing my progress to really ascertain that I have completed my recovery.

“I have been away for a long time after all, but now the pain is gone completely; so now my mind is on fighting to play again,” he says.
