Nkoana calls for Thanda composure

Thanda are on the verge of PSL promotion, as victory over Stellenbosch will ensure their return to the top flight for the first time since 2008/09.

At their home ground, where the passionate crowd has been turning up in huge numbers all season long, Amabhubesi have yet to taste defeat and drawn only three matches in 13 games.

What has also boosted Thanda's hopes of promotion was striker Mhlengi Cele, who has been their key threat up front before injuries curtailed his role in recent months.

Another key contributor has been coach Roger Sikhakhane, who joined the club last year February to rescue the team from the brink of relegation to the ABC Motsepe League.

At the start of the season the former Chippa United coach brought in new and hungry blood to add value and experience along the way.

Nkoana, who has scored three goals in nine league appearances so far, admits that today's game presents extra pressure, but is confident in their ability and approach.

"I think today's game isn't easy for everyone so I think from our side we just need to work very hard," Nkoana tells KickOff.com.

"We just have to keep on doing what we've been doing all along, put the hard work first and the rest will follow.

"But we also just have to take the game as it comes, because all the games are important. it doesn't matter which team you are playing against, we just have to keep the same mentality like we have been doing against all other teams."

The former Ajax Cape Town striker will be facing his parent club for the first time since departing in the January transfer window on a short-term loan, but insists he knows which side his bread is buttered as he puts his personal sentiments aside.

"What I can say is that I'm more focussed on my work because I'm getting paid here [at Thanda]," he says. "I don't have to think of anything that is not on my side; what is important is on what is on my side."

The much anticipated clash will kick off at 15h00.
