Telkom’s marketing and sponsorship manager Zola Nkuta says the company has already sent out 8 trailers that will be used to stage road shows that will promote the finals taking place in Tshwane in fortnight’s time.
“We could not have asked for a better Final as it involves Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns.
“Last season no one gave Ajax Cape Town and Platinum Stars a chance of reaching the finals as they were regarded as small teams. This season the big guns have come out to say that they want the R4,2-million first prize and last week they gave fans a taste of what they can expect.
“With the Soweto Derby, the Fifa 2010 World Cup Preliminary draw and Telkom Finals in the next two weeks, the festive mood seems to have already started.
“Each team has been given 2 trailers which they will direct themselves, using them to draw the interest of the fans for the final. The other four will be used by Telkom to visit various places for road shows involving the finals.
“We have set up a mini festival on same day as the finals with L'Vovo, Thebe and Chomee performing in the stadium. There will also be curtain raiser that involves legends from Sundowns and Chiefs.”
Tickets for the Telkom Knockout tournament are already on sale at Computicket and Shoprite Checkers.
