Suspended Malawians get recall

The two were suspended by former Flames’ coach Steven Constantine after their Afcon qualifier against Zimbabawe last year which they lost 3-1.

Kondowe tells that he is happy that he has finally been given the chance to represent his country again.

“I knew that there was no real reason why I was suspended, but the coach had his own reasons as to why he did it.”

Kondowe said that he will do his best to help his country qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations which they last did in 1984 when they drew 2-2 with Nigeria before losing to Ivory Coast.

Malawi face Africa Champions Egypt, Djibouti and DRC in the qualifying games.

Regarding his future at Leopards, Kondowe said he is now concentrating on helping the team avoid relegation in their last game against Kaizer Chiefs.

“We have a big job at hand and that is what I am looking at now. We will cross the other bridge when we reach it,” he said.
