Sundowns gears up for early action

It is the second successive year that Sundowns’ season begins almost a month in advance of the rest of the Premier Soccer League teams because of their participation in continental club competition.

This year they are also joined by Platinum Stars in the forth round of the Confederation Cup.

Sundowns have announced the first leg of their tie against Egyptian club Haras al Hodoud will be played in July 12 at Atteridgeville’s Super stadium. The return game will be two weekend later in Alexandria, where the border guards’ team is based.

Sundowns last year made it to the group stage of the Confederation Cup but did not make it to the final, won by Tunisia’s CS Sfaxien.
