Komphela: We were competent & commanding

Dumisani Zuma came off the bench to score the winning goal as the AmaKhosi defeated the Urban Warriors 1-0 at the FNB Stadium.

Chiefs have now moved up to second spot in the Absa Premiership with their final game of the year.

"We need to stay calm, sometimes when you try hard it doesn't come easy as hard as you try. But we are delighted with the victory I'm happy for the people, nice Christmas present for them and also to the players," Komphela told SuperSport TV.

"One would wish if we take half the chances we create there could be something. But we have to be gracious even in victory, take the three points and move on. I think overall we were quite okay. We were competent and commanding."

Komphela was asked whether the Soweto giants will make more January signings after the club confirmed the capture of Leonardo Castro from Mamelodi Sundowns.

"We follow procedure, it's not as easy especially for us here at Chiefs. We can go to the same shop and buy Mageu but the price will never be the same. And at Chiefs you're required to give the best quality of Mageu.

"Defensively we are okay, we have more than enough. Apart from three centre-backs in this match we still have Rama [Mphahlele] and the youngster [Lorenzo] Gordinho. The only thing that we have to sharpen up is the level of confidence in converting the chances we create. That's the kind of remedy we need."
