Keshi stated that the response to Nigeria's draw against Iran on Monday boils down to the fact that a lot of people underrated Iran and expected the game to be a walkover for the African champions.

"We know what went wrong yesterday [Monday], most people do not understand. It's because there were too many expectations, and they think Iran is a walkover team. But you don't have that in football these days," Keshi told KickOffNigeria.com on Tuesday evening.

"Imagine Mexico and Brazil today. What will you do? Are you going to kill the Brazilians for not beating Mexico?" he queried.

The Big Boss noted that the events of game against Iran have passed, and called for attention to be shifted to Nigeria's next game against Bosnia-Herzegovina on Saturday, which he acknowledged is crucial to the team's chances of qualifying for the next round.

He also hailed the response of the players to the recent events, adding that they recognise the fact that they need to improve on their performance in Saturday's game.

"What happened yesterday [Monday] has happened and it's gone. We need to focus on our match on Saturday, which is the most crucial match for us.

"I like the way they [the players] are taking it. They know we have to give more on Saturday. I'm looking forward to the game."
