AmaZulu director Graham O’Connor says the 42-year-old former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder has asked to be given some time to think things over after being told he cannot make it anymore in top flight football.
“Look, we would like to keep Shoes in the team, but not as a player because we feel his legs cannot run the way they used to. But for now, we will wait and see what he decides,” said O’Connor.
In a recent interview, Moshoeu made it clear he would leave Usuthu should he not be given a new contract; however, the club is now earmarking him for a marketing role.
Meanwhile, striker Mpho Maleka is likely to leave Usuthu after his terms for a new deal were described as “heavy”.
Maleka is best remembered by fans for his hat-trick he grabbed against Black Leopards in the Nedbank Cup quarter finals.
