Lokeren to sign SA youngster

Central midfielder Bailey is current part of the ASD Academy team in Cape Town, but impressed the Belgian club on a European tour with his side earlier this year.

Lokeren have been delighted with the impact that Patosi has made in his first 12 months with the team and are hopeful that Bailey can make a similar impression.

As such they have offered the 18-year-old a one-year professional contract and will incorporate him into their first-team squad.

"Sporting Lokeren confirmed on Friday evening that they will be taking Sherwin Bailey," a source told KickOff.com.

"We have not had confirmation of the terms; however we are led to believe they are sticking to their original offer of a year-long professional contract. They are presently finalising the paperwork and ASD are obtaining Sherwin's visa documentation.

"Sherwin is delighted and focused on making the most of this first step into his soccer career."

Meanwhile, winger Ebrahim Seedat recently negotiated his exit from Lokeren after failing to make an impact on the first team in Belgium.

The Under-20 international is now free to attend trials with PSL clubs having joined Lokeren at the same time as Patosi, but without the same first-team success.
