Juventus brush Cagliari aside in Serie A

Juve made a bright start, as Martin Caceres’ attempt forced Alessio Cragno into save for on 10 minutes following Miralem Pjanic’s in-swinging delivery.

The Italian champions raced in front on 22 minutes after Leonardo Bonucci leaped highest to guide home Federico Bernardeschi’s corner.

Rolando Maran’s charges first sight on goal arrived on 37 minutes when Joao Pedro squandered a decent chance after breaking through from the left flank.

Juve looked well in control in the final minutes to halftime, and with no threat coming their way, went to the interval in front.

Juve pushed for a second goal on 58 minutes, as a Moise Kean effort put Cragno in a spot of bother after breaking through the centre of defence.

The Rossoblu looked no match for the visitors, who was forced to make a 61st minute change after Rodrigo Bentancur replaced Caceres who sustained a knock.

Soon after, Kean was sent clear again in the final quarter, but after attempting to lob Cragno, the latter’s braveness won the duel.

With five minutes to go, Kean finally put his name up on the lights with an easy tap-in from Bentancur’s low ball to seal the victory for the Old Lady.

That was enough to take Juve to 82 points at the top of the table and a successive victory without talisman Cristiano Ronaldo, with Cagliari rooted in 12th place.
