Jerome Ramatlhakwane says he is confident of winning a contract after impressing compatriot David Bright and his technical team during trials in January.
“I enjoyed my stay in Cape Town and the Santos players made me feel at home,” he says.
“The facilities are very good and there is great exposure through media, which is why I really want to play in South Africa. I did well during my trials, but am still waiting for official word from the club.
“However, I’m confident that I’ll be playing in South Africa next season.”
Ramatlhakwane has 12 caps and three goals for the Zebras, and had previously worked with Bright during his days as Botswana¹s Under-23 coach. He plays his club football for Centre Chiefs, where he is currently leading the Premier League scoring charts with 16 goals.
Rumour has it that Santos are not the only PSL club eyeing his signature, but Ramatlhakwane says his mind is made up.
“I heard rumours about both Kaizer Chiefs and Supersport United being interested, but I want to play for Santos because of David Bright. It is great to play under a coach who understands you. Of course it also helps that Mogogi [Gabonamong] and Dipsy [Selolwane] are here,” he says.
