Japhet Zwane scored for the Dube Birds, while Mogogi Gabonamong, Romano Scott and man-of-the-match Erwin Isaacs netted for Santos.

The visitors made most of the early running, with striker Isaacs shooting just wide in the 19th minute after being set up by Gabonamong.

Swallows keeper Aubrey Mathibe produced a superb save to deny Bevan Fransch from hitting the back of the net with a good free-kick in the 24th minute.

The hosts took the lead in the 33rd minute when Zwane headed home at the far post from a good cross by Siphesihle Ngobese.

Santos were denied a clear penalty in the 35th minute after Swallows skipper Goodman Mazibuko fouled Isaacs inside the area, but referee Daniel Bennett astonishingly handed the People’s Team a free-kick on the edge of the area.

Isaacs threatened again three minutes later, but the Santos striker saw his fierce free-kick sail just over the crossbar.

The score remained 1-0 at the break.

Santos needed just three minutes after the restart to level the score after Rodgers flicked Isaacs’ free-kick onto the post, with Gabonamong on hand to tap the ball into an empty net.

Isaacs then produced some good work down the right flank to set Eleazar Rodgers free in the 58th minute, and the lanky Amaglug-glug striker produced a superb low cross for substitute Scott to stab home with his first touch of the game.

The visitors threatened again in the 67th minute, with Fransch again testing Mathibe with a fierce free-kick, and although the Swallows keeper failed to hold onto the ball, he was fortunate enough to see the ball roll around the post for a corner.

Isaacs made it 3-1 in the 81st minute with a good header following a superb cross by Thomrick October.

Swallows almost pulled a goal back in the 83rd minute when Evans Gwekwerere found Maimane Phiri inside the Santos area, and the veteran midfielder produced a superb turn before shooting towards goal, unfortunately his effort came back off the post and straight into the arms of visiting keeper Wayne Roberts.

The final chance of the game fell to Evans Gwekwerere two minutes from the end, but his volley flew straight at Roberts.
