Saintfiet gets Warriors deal

Saintfiet had been in charge of the team for the past four months on a short-term contract, but after Namibia beat Zimbabwe 4-2 in an African zone qualifier earlier this month, has signed a permanent contact with an option for two more years, secretary-general Barry Rukaro told Reuters.

Saintfiet replaced the Dutch coach Ari Schans, who had been fired in June after Namibia lost three qualifiers in a row and were effectively eliminated from the race for places at the 2010 World Cup finals.

Saintfiet (35), has previously coached in the Ivory Coast, Qatar, the Netherlands, Germany, the Faroe Islands, Finland and Kazakhstan.
