PSL confirms transfer window Deadline Day


The Premier Soccer League have confirmed the closing date for the end of the current transfer window.

According to a statement from the league, August 31 marks the "Deadline Day" until which clubs will be allowed to register new players.

"The 2021/22 [Premier Soccer League domestic transfer window will officially close on Tuesday, August 31 2021 at midnight.

The domestic transfer window opened on July 1 2021," said a PSL statement.

The window will close one week after the start of league fixtures with the DStv Premiership due to begin on the weekend of August 20-22.

The season gets under way on August 14 with the start of the MTN8 quarter-finals.

The major transfer business conducted has consisted of high-profile free-agent signings, with Kaizer Chiefs securing the signatures of Keagan Dolly and Cole Alexander. Alongside other signings such as Sibusiso Mabiliso, Brandon Peterson, Pathutshedzo Nange, and Kgaogelo Sekgota.

Mamelodi Sundowns acquired Thabiso Kutumela from Maritzburg United, Neo Maema and Sifiso Ngobeni from Bloemfontein Celtic, while Pavol Safranko was brought in from Romanian club Sepsi OSK.

Orlando Pirates also splashed out on Goodman Mosele from Baroka FC and brought in free agents Kwanda Mngonyama and Bandile Shandu.
