Mthembu and Tshikovhi have both signed three-year deals at the club and are in the squad that is heading off to spend a week on a pre-season camp in Mpumalanga.
“We are done with signings for now as we have 32 players. We are happy with the squad we have and believe it will be able to compete in the PSL. Mthembu and Tshikovhi are the last two signings that we have made,” says Jason Raine, Stars’ general manager.
Raine adds that Tshikovhi, a 23 year-old centre-back, is destined to make an impact on the domestic in the same way his homeboy Mathoho has done in the last two years.
“Rofhiwa has previously played for Jomo Cosmos and is a very tall centre-back who hails from the same village as Mathoho. He should be able to emulate his homeboy and go on to make an impact.
“I have been told they were called the ‘Twin Towers’ when they were still playing together back home in Venda,” says Raine.
Stars have reshuffled their squad extensively with almost half the squad from last season leaving.
