United took the lead through midfielder Kurt Lentjies midway through the first half, before Enocent Mkhabela equalised for Dikwena. Try as they might, neither side could force a winner from there on.
The visitors had the better of the opening period, pushing forward with purpose and pinning Stars back in their own half.
They took the lead on 27 minutes through Lentjies as he pounced on a loose ball following some hesitant defending from the home side.
Former Dikwena skipper Mbhuyiselo Sambu, on as a first-half substitute for Phelani Mpangase, almost marked his return with a goal as he headed over from Thuso Phala’s corner.
Stars found an equaliser just five minutes after the restart. Mkhabela converted Terrence Mandaza’s pass to score his second goal for the club and continue his fine form in his rookie PSL season.
There followed only half-chances after that for either side – Mandaza blasting over before he was replaced by Morgan Shivambu – but no more goals.
