Da Gama praises strikers

Bucs, who last recorded a win against Mamelodi Sundowns two months ago, came out with their guns blazing and deserved the victory against Ea Lla Koto.

Da Gama said they will fight as if their lives depend on the game when face they AmaZulu on Sunday to increase their chances of qualifying for the top 8 at the end the end of the season.

“It was never going to be easy playing on such a bumpy pitch, but the boys showed great character to come back with the three points.

“We have not lost hope of qualifying for top 8.”

Da Gama also praised his two strikers yesterday, Rudzani Ramudzuli and Gilbert Mushangazhike for their excellent performances up front yesterday.

“Rudzani has been doing well at training and deserved his chance yesterday. Gilbert did not play against Chiefs, but we had a friendly game on Monday where he scored three goals and that was enough for both players to raise their hands that they wanted to play against Free State Stars.”

Meanwhile, Orlando Pirates captain Lehlohonolo Seema has also expressed his delight to be back in action after being away from football for more than two months due to a head injury.

“It’s nice to be back and I was happy with my performance yesterday even though I am still lacking in terms of match fitness.

“It was also nice to win against Free State Stars after such a long time. We have not been doing well in the past few games and we badly needed the win. I am sure that we will be able to end the season on a good note by beating AmaZulu on Sunday.”
