Permall nears return

Signed by Coastal Stream First Division side Ikapa Sporting after deciding to head back to his home town at the beginning of the season, Permall is certain to be back soon to help the club’s ambition of immediate promotion.

“It is nice to be back at home with all my homeboys around. I am familiar with all the guys in the team and they are all hungry to get the team back into the PSL so that we play in the top league again,” he says.

“I am not yet completely perfect, but the positive aspect is that I am at training with the rest of the squad. I am confident that I will be back playing again soon, probably by the end of the month.

“The operation that I had has really frustrated me because it has been a really long time since I last played. I have been training with the team for two months though I have had to do extras with the fitness trainer to strengthen the muscle around the knee and get them accustomed to the hectic schedule.

“I have also had to take more precautions so that when I play, I don’t succumb to the same injury.

“While I miss playing, I am being patient with the proper rehabilitation that the club has put me through because I will be completely fit when it is completed,” says Permall.

After suffering the injury last season, Permall trained with FC AK, Platinum Stars and then City Pillars. He also had an unsuccessful trial in Cyprus.

Before spending the whole of last season club hunting Permall had been at Moroka Swallows whom he had joined from Kaizer Chiefs after moving to Naturena from Ajax Cape Town.
