Mbappe wants wonderkid at PSG

Mbappe, 19, lifted the first ever Kopa trophy in Paris on Monday, which is awarded to the best player in the world under the age of 21.

RAED: Ballon d'Or labelled 'fake and overhyped'

After winning the domestic treble with PSG and the 2018 FIFA World Cup, few could match the acheivements of the 19-year-old forward as Borussia Dortmund's Christian Pulisic and AS Roma's Justin Kluivert finished in second and third respectively.

And while he's already lined up alongside superstars like Neymar, Edinson Cavani and Angel di Maria and the Parc des Princes, the former AS Monaco man claims there's one player, in particular, he'd like to develop alongside, which is Ajax Amsterdam's Frenkie de Jong.

With reports indicating midfielder Adrien Rabiot will depart the Ligue 1 champions on a free transfer at the end of the season, Mbappe might just get his wish - with PSG ready to challenge Manchester City and FC Barcelona for the 21-year-old's signature in the off-season.

"His vision of the game and quality of passes breaking the lines makes him very valuable," Mbappe explained to France Football about the Netherlands star.

"He's welcome at Paris! I put in a good word [for him] because he'd help us a lot."

Ajax has reportedly issued a £75m price-tag on the technically gifted midfielder to ward off potential suitors and with Financial Fair Play sanctions possibly looming over the French giants it remains to be seen if they will launch a bid for the Dutchman.
