Gcaba confirms speaking to Sundowns

Gcaba acknowledges he held talks with Sundowns but it all came to nothing when they disappeared.

"Sundowns was in the picture and I did speak to them but then I don't know what happened afterwards because they never followed up on their interest. Though Sundowns never followed on their interest I never felt down because this is football and you must expect anything," says Gcaba.

"Pirates were more serious because they followed up on their interest and it is for that reason that I am happy to have signed. It has always been my dream to play for a big team and I was lucky and fortunate to identified and then signed by Pirates. Pirates were interested in me from last season," he reveals.

The defender is now looking to make his stay at Pirates as a breakthrough to bigger things.

"Firstly we have to continue with the winning mentality while I also want to learn a lot from the senior players at the club. I have hopes of breaking into Bafana Bafana and I know that as long as I play at Pirates that will happen," says Gcaba.
