O’Loughlin lands Congo job

O’Loughlin, who was introduced to top flight football by the late former Buccaneers’ coach, Bibey Mutombo during his stint in South Africa, has signed a one-year contract with the DRC team.

Speaking to KickOff.com, O’Loughlin, who also coached at SuperSport United Youth academy, confirmed his new job in DRC Congo and said he was delighted by the opportunity afforded to him to coach at the highest level.

“Yes, it is true that I have left the country for Congo and I have just started coaching AS Vita.”

The former Bucs assistant coach faces the possibility of returning back to South Africa soon with his team to meet Mamelodi Sundowns if AS Vita beat Swaziland’s Malanti Chiefs in a CAF Confederations Cup game in a fortnight’s time.
