Obua out for six months

News

Obua joined his former Ugandan national team coach Laszlo Csaba at Heart of Midlothian at the start of the new season.

Obua’s injury has ruled him out of the Cranes’ World Cup\Afcon qualifier against Benin on October 12 at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.

Obua and with his fellow teammate Deividas Cesnauskis were forthwith forced out of their club’s Clydesdale Bank Premier League clash with struggling Falkirk yesterday.

“I feel bad that I’m going to be on the sidelines for sometime. I love to play competitive soccer for both my club and country, but I’ve been forced to rest now. I will see how the rehabilitation programme goes.

“Maybe I will recover quick enough to play for Uganda on October 12,” said the likeable and ball-weaving lanky player, who scored Uganda’s solitary goal in the shocking 3-1 loss to Niger last weekend in Niamey.

Csaba says that Obua won’t be rushed back into action.
