Nunens signs for Aces

Nunes, who carries a reputation of being wayward, signed a one-year contract with an option to renew early on Wednesday.

The 25-year-old, a graduate from the School of Excellence, joined his new teammates at training in Witbank immediately afterwards.

While Nunens was putting pen to paper, team manager Thethe Mogosti was parting ways with the club. No reasons for his resignation were disclosed.

Black Aces spokesman Thabo Moroape, told Kick Off that the arrival of Nunen, who has one Bafana cap and also spent time with Dynamos and Bloemfontein Celtic, would benefit the club.

“The fact that we don’t have a game this weekend due to the Fifa calendar weekend gives Sipho chance to settle in. In the week that we will not be playing, he will get the opportunity to blend with his teammates at training,” says Moroape.

Black Aces have also recently signed experienced goalkeeper Michael Babale and defender Mandla Zwane.

Both players were at FC AK last season although Zwane, who has a one-year contract, spent the last half on loan at Black Leopards before being allegedly unfairly dismissed just before the end of the season.
