Ntwagae quits SuperSport United

Matsatsantsa coach Gavin Hunt confirmed the development saying that the player had approached management and demanded his release.

Management acceded to Ntwagae’s request and his three-year deal was nullified by mutual agreement.

The player’s agent Francesco Ferreri told KickOff.com that the player was given a three-month settlement and a free clearance that allows him to join any team even though the transfer window has closed.

Ntwagae tells KickOff.com that he was dissatisfied with certain issues and he decided that he should leave the team.

He did not elaborate on what the issues were.

It is not known whether the player’s lack of action during most of United’s games earlier this season prompted his decision to leave however, Ferreri alluded to this when he said the player was confident of his ability and felt he should leave and try his luck elsewhere.

“He is now training with his former club Platinum Stars and the chances are he could get a deal there.”

Ntwagae said he has been asked to train for two weeks while the Tycoons assess him, but he is confident that he will succeed.

It is believed Free State Stars and Santos enquired about the Brakpan-born player but he opted to go to Stars where, he says, “it is like home”.
