Flying Eagles defeat Tanzania

Abduljeleel Ajagun opened scoring for Nigeria in the 14th minute, through a well taken shot inside the 18-yard box of the visitors. The hosts continued to mount more pressure and it seemed to have paid off when Sharks forward Bright Ejike headed into the Tanzanian goal in the 21st minute, only to have the goal disallowed by the referee.

Nigeria however took a comfortable lead when Enugu Rangers striker, Alhaji Gero stepped up to convert a second half penalty in the 65th minute, to seal the victory, and complete a 4-1 aggregate win in favour of Nigeria.

Nigeria who had earlier defeated the Tanzanians by 2-1 in Dar es Salaam two weeks ago in the first leg of the qualifiers will now face South Africa's 'Amajita' on September 22 in South Africa, with the return leg scheduled to be played two weeks later.
