Newly-crowned champions Kano Pillars lost 2-1 to Sunshine Stars. Nasiru Ali scored with a header in the third minute to give Pillars an early lead, but Dele Olorundare's thunderous shot brought the hosts level before Ajani Ibrahim netted the winner on 65 minutes.

At Enugu, Rangers hounded visiting Sharks from the blast of the referee’s whistle and had already secured a two-goal lead as at the fifth minute thanks to Oghogho Odukpe and Ifeanyi Edeh.

Man of the Match Chinedu Sunday added another goal in the second half to end the game 3-0, guaranteeing Rangers a second-place finish and a spot in next season's CAF Champions League.

In other games, Segun Alebiosu and Kabiru Sanusi Scored to give Kwara United a 2-0 victory over visiting Shooting Stars, while Kaduna United defeated third-placed Lobi Stars, with the latter guaranteed a place in next season's CAF Confederations Cup.

Enyimba defeated Wikki Tourists 3-0 to finish fourth and secure a place in next seasons WAFU Cup courtesy of goals from Chinonso Okonkwo, Markson Ojobo and Gabriel Agu, while Kabiru Umar's goal helped Heartland defeat visiting Akwa United by 1-0.

Gombe United defeated visiting Warri Wolves by 1-0 courtesy of a goal scored by Haruna Babalo, while Dolphins defeated Rising Stars by 2-0 to relegate the visitors.

Niger Tornadoes were winning their game against Jigawa GS by 2-0 before the game was abandoned. Both teams have, however, been relegated along with Rising Stars and expelled Ocean Boys.
