Yobo two caps from century, says NFF

There has been some confusion as to whether the Nigeria skipper is on 98 or 99 caps, but Olajire said the correct figure is 98.

"The official figure we have for Yobo is 96 caps after the USA friendly in Jacksonville," Olajire told KickOffNigeria.com. "He has now added two more at the World Cup.

"Yobo did not play the game against Lesotho in Warri in 2007, which has been included in his appearances."

Olajire praised the player's commitment as longevity, pointing to it as an example for others to emulate.

"It is not easy to get to this mark, and it is a sign of his consistent commitment that he is where he is now."

Yobo was presented with a plaque by the NFF when he passed Nwankwo Kanu's record of appearances two years ago, and it is expected that he will enjoy similar honour when he hits the century mark.
