The tall forward said this following reports in the Durban media that he was being sought by Absa Premiership runners up following his impressive form last season.
_quote Ngwenya grabbed 10 goals in the League and was top scorer with eight goals in the Nedbank Cup.
“Yes, it is true Ajax want me and there is talk of them giving AmaZulu one of their defenders. But I doubt that the club will release me as I’m one of their key players.
“The fact that they have already extended my stay shows they value my services.
“I guess I will have to live with the fact that I’ll be part of the Usuthu set-up next season,” says Ngwenya from his Pietermaritzburg home.
The striker also expressed disappointment at not being invited at the PSL awards as he was a nominee for the Player of the Year award.
Nonetheless he is happy that his bank balance will reflect a hefty R100 000 for his efforts in emerging as top scorer in the Nedbank Cup.
“I haven’t decided what to do with the money yet; I will take time to decide and use it wisely,” he adds.
