Ngobeni hoping to play soon

The Bafana Bafana midfielder confirms that he has resumed light training and his recovery is progressing well.

The 20-year-old tenacious anchorman adds that he may be back earlier than anticipated, contrary to earlier fears that he would not take any further part of the ongoing season.

“I have started light training and have never felt so fine since I suffered the injury and the resultant operation that went wrong. I am no longer feeling the niggling pain that I used to feel in my toe,” says the diminutive player, adding that this has given him hope that he will be able to take play the remainder of 2007/08 campaign.

“Although I do not want to put pressure on myself by rushing back into action, I feel confident that I can play the last few games of the season.”

The Urban Warriors technical team, which will be spoilt for choice when the Johannesburg-born youngster fully recovers, is pleased with Ngobeni’s progress.

“He has steadily recovered from his injury and is back with the team doing light training,” confirms head coach Craig Rosslee’s assistant, Wilfred Mugeyi.
