The Celtic captain was shown a red card in the 59th minute for kicking Neymar in the back, after he had brought the Barca forward down in a tackle.
Celtic struggled with 10 men, and Cesc Fabregas’ header 14 minutes from time sealed the win for the visitors.
Lennon reckons the dismissal was a game-changer.
“I’m not convinced it is [a red card], if there is any contact, it’s minimal. It changed the game, it’s hard enough playing Barcelona with 11 men,” Lennon told ITV Sport.
“He [Neymar] has a reputation in the game, he’s a brilliant player, but sometimes he exaggerates things a little.”
