Neeskeens: We made a lot of individual mistakes

The Dube Birds advanced to the MTN8 Final, defeating Sundowns thanks to a first-half brace by Lerato Chabangu and another from Bennet Chenene.

Downs' consolation goals came from a spectacular free-kick by Teko Modise and a last-minute goal by Nyasha Mushekwi.

The Brazilians were 3-0 down in less than 20 minutes, which is similar to what happened in the first leg, where they were 2-0 down in less than 20 minutes.

"It is the second time that we are doing these individual mistakes at the back. I can count many goals that we have conceded – so many goals – because of our individual mistakes," Neeskens says.

"In the space of 10 minutes we let in three goals because of individual mistakes at the back. We did fight to get back in the game but it did not help because we had already let in a lot of goals."

However, Swallows coach Zeca Marques says his team nearly threw away their lead by relaxing after the first 20 minutes.

"We worked hard to be 3-0 up in less than 20 minutes and our players started to relax, seeing that it was easy, and they cannot afford doing that against a quality side like Mamelodi Sundowns," Marques says.

"We learnt our lesson the previous week and we could not afford to repeat the same mistake.

"Overall I am happy with our showing and we can focus on the upcoming matches for now."
