Nathi Lions’ youngsters to play in Russia


Youths from the modest Natal side will battle it out with 11 other teams from the host country, Israel, Belgium, Scotland and Austria.

The tournament will be played on artificial turf at the Iskra Stadium in Moscow.

An excited Lions team manager Joshua Ndwandwe disclosed the details to

“This is the first time that anyone of us, except for the club chairman Nathi Maphumulo, will be going overseas. The boys are excited about the trip and all the travelling documents have already been sorted.

“We were to participate in this tournament by our links at Hibernian FC in Edinburgh, Scotland,” says Ndwandwe.

Lions Under-15 team is coached by Mduduzi Ndzimande.

The Moscow tournament will be played from June 26-30.

“I will also be travelling with the team to attend some management courses. I am not certain how long I will stay there because the details that we have at the moment are only to do with the tournament,” says Ndwandwe.
