Previously a regular in the Zambian national Under-23 team that is campaigning for a spot in the Beijing Olympics and playing a cameo role in the senior team, Mulenga has suddenly been dropped by the selectors.
“I have no idea why I am no longer being called. I believe that they think I am without a club as reports from home claim. However, I am not overly concerned; I am fine and will continue to do what I am capable of.
_quote “But the truth is that I extended my contract with TUKS before the season even began and I have played all the games to date. I even scored in the drawn league match against Dynamos.
“My club performance will prove people back home wrong. Maybe the selectors are not well informed about what is happening here and that I remain available to play for my country,” says Mulenga.
The Zambian Under-23 team, coached by Peter Kaumba, is due to play Ivory Coast away in Abidjan next.
