Mputu, who tops the 2007 Caf Champions League goalscoring table with 11 strikes, is rumoured to be moving to the Gunners in a R40-million deal.
According to Mputu’s agent Bajo Bujani who arrived in South Africa from Congo at the weekend, the player is set to join the London-based outfit on November 19 for a 10-days training stint.
“There is a 70 percent chance that he could sign but Arsenal still want to look at him before making final arrangements. He will leave the Congo on November 17 and begin training with the Gunners two days later,” Bujani tells Kick Off.
Bujani also mentioned that three Belgian teams as well as Bundesliga Bayern Munich have also expressed interest in the TP Mazembe striker.
The pint-sized but highly skilful TP Mazembe forward is best remembered by local fans for stunning the Brazilians at Loftus Stadium in their Confederations Cup fixture with two first half goals.
Mputu, who is also highly rated by all his countrymen currently plying their trade in the PSL, has already been for trials in France and Belgium.
