Maritzburg assess Mkhonza

This was confirmed by United’s boss Farouk Kadodia while watching the Thanda Royal Zulu and Bidvest Wits game at Hammarsdale.

“Yes, he [Mkhonza] arrived at the club last week and is being evaluated. We are not in a hurry to sign him, but will see how things go,” said Kadodia.

Mkhonza, who has been without a club after being released by SuperSport United, has also played for Golden Arrows, Bloemfontein Celtic and Ria Stars.

Kadodia added that they were ready for on-form Golden Arrows whom they host at Woodburn Stadium, Pietermaritzburg.

In their previous game, United were thumped 5-0 by league champions SuperSport United last Wednesday in Pretoria.

“The technical staff has rectified the mistakes and the boys are looking forward to the next games. We have high respect for Arrows and we anticipate a tough game.”

Kadodia also revealed that in the place of injured striker Fadlu Davids, coach Gordon Igesund could put together a Brice Aka or Tico-Tico Bucuane partnership with Collins Zimba and Lebohang Kukame on the wings.
