Sandilands: Chiefs have a good team

Downs host Chiefs in the MTN8 quarter-final and Sandilands expects a massive challenge from the Glamour Boys.

"We know that the real work starts against Chiefs so we are upbeat and positive and hopefully we have sorted out all the cobwebs during the pre-season. We are excited about the match," he says.

"Chiefs are looking a very good team now. They have made some important signings and it is going to be tough, it is always a hard game when we play against Chiefs so we have to be on top of our game if we want to progress," Sandilands adds.

The Brazilians have failed to defeat Chiefs in Cup competition for the past few years and with both coming to this match on the back of a disappointing season where they finished without silverware, the goalkeeper says both will be coming out with a point to prove.

"They are looking solid, they are organised and like us they have a point to prove so I think they are going to be hungry just like us so it’s going to be a very tough game.

"The biggest pressure is coming from us the players. We know that we have not won anything, I think as a player you are hungry and that’s what you play football for, to enjoy yourself and win trophies.

"We are all hungry to do that, we are working hard on it and we will give our best hopefully it will be our turn this season," he adds.
