Neeskens positive after fourth straight defeat

Sundowns suffered their fourth defeat in a row against Golden Arrows on Saturday night at Moses Mabhida Stadium, with Thanduyise Khuboni scoring the only goal of the game from the penalty spot in injury time.

Neeskens, who is under pressure at the club, says Sundowns were unfortunate to lose as they were better side on the day, creating decent scoring opportunities that they could not make count.

"We were very unfortunate. I don't want to talk about all the players who were not there, because I cannot change it," the coach says.

"I think we played a very good match. I think lot of the time we were in control and we had most of the opportunities but unfortunately we didn't score.

"I think the normal result should be a tie but because of the decision from the referee with one minute left we lost it."

Downs were without nine of their players owing to injuries, and Neeskens is confident that it is only a matter of time before they get back to winning ways.

"With all the players that were not available tonight, I think we played better football than in our previous game. But sometimes when you are in a deep position you don't have luck. We have to do our best to come out from this situation.

"I saw a lot of improvement in this game from the previous one and I think we played a better game today than the one against Maritzburg and the game before that."
