Leopards need victory to close gap

Kick off is at 15h00.

Lidoda Duvha broke a 14-match winless streak in the league when they beat BidVest Wits 1-0 at home on Saturday afternoon, despite playing the majority of the game with 10 men.

The three points has certainly given the beleaguered club hope of avoiding the drop, particularly if they can follow up by defeating an out-of-sorts Thanda in this intriguing fixture.

Leopards are now just three points behind second-from-bottom Jomo Cosmos and a further two back from Amabhubesi, who have lost three games in a row and seem to be slipping back into the clutches of the bottom two.

The KwaZulu-Natal club’s latest setback came on Sunday afternoon when they were embarrassed 3-0 at home by Bloemfontein Celtic, following on from defeats against Mamelodi Sundowns and Golden Arrows.

Thanda are just two points clear of the danger zone and, with both Cosmos and Leopards seeming to up their game as the season winds down, they need to respond with a positive result.

A repeat of their 2-1 win over Leopards from earlier in the season would do very nicely indeed. On that occasion, goals from Brian Kgafane and Patrick Mayo were enough to secure all three points.
