Kondowe set for Egypt move

Kondowe attracted the attention of Zamalek during the 2010 World Cup /African Cup qualifier game against Egypt played in Cairo recently.

Also set to move to Egypt from the Malawian national team to join Ismaili is striker Msowoya Chikuep who is also being courted by local first division side, FC AK.

FC AK have already sent one of their officials to Malawi to negotiate with his team, Eskom, for his clearance.

Speaking to KickOff.com, Kondowe confirmed that Zamalek has put forward an enticing offer that he intends to consider after the First Division promotional play-offs.

“They were impressed with my performance when Malawi played against Egypt and we had a lengthy discussion. They said they wanted to sign me without my having to go for trials.

“The chances are very high that I will go there, but at the moment I am focusing on helping Black Leopards in the play-offs. After the play-offs they will talk to Black Leopards.

“I am very eager to go and play in Egypt,” Kondowe added.

Meanwhile, Malawian national team left-back Moses Chavula, who was in South Africa for trials with Bloemfontein Celtic, has failed to win a contract with Phunya Sele Sele. Chavula plays for MTL Wanderers in Malawi.
