The Zambian resurfaced in South Africa nine months after he left the club to return home to request his clearance.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns’ player made limited contribution at First Division Inland Stream last season, when it was still known as City Pillars, featuring in six games due to his battle with a knee injury which prompted the club not to renew his contract.
“Kampamba left us during pre-season and went back home to Zambia. We had not heard from him since, until last week when he suddenly pitched up asking for his clearance,” says Aces’ CEO Peter Koutroulis.
“Since we were the last club that he played for, we granted his request because he is a good player whose career should still go on.”
It is believed that the 29-year-old will be playing in the Zambian League this season.
The nippy midfielder, who has also played in Russia and in Asia, failed trial stints at Moroka Swallows and Orlando Pirates but netted four goals in six games in the lower ranks afterwards.
