Letsholonyane continues to be a force at 35, and has the opportunity to add more silverware to his collection when Matsatsantsa battle Cape Town City in the MTN8 final at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.
'Yeye' twice won the competition in an eight-year stay with Kaizer Chiefs. Before that he broke through at Jomo Cosmos under Sono, who says Letsholonyane was a late bloomer.
"Yeye was 12 years old when I saw him play. I took him at the age of 13 to Cosmos," says Sono.
"I am surprised at his height now because he was short and I never thought he will grow. He was short, his nickname when you met him, you would say 'Shorty'.
"All of a sudden, I don't know what he was eating. If it was Tsonga I was going to say he is eating Mashonja.
"Yeye has become a good player. He is unbelievable."
