Igesund could remain at Thanda

The former Mamelodi Sundowns mentor was shortlisted for Ghana’s Black Stars’ coaching job and it has been reported that he has other options in Austria and the Middle East.

Igesund played a big role in helping Thanda survive the axe when he worked as technical advisor in their last three matches of the recently-concluded season.

“Look, I would love to work in Durban again so long as there is no conflict with current coaches (Roger Palmgren and Johan Eriksson). There are several situations at hand and something may happen next week,” said Igesund.

KickOff.com has learned that Thanda’s management is keen to keep Igesund and could elevate him to the technical director role on a full-time basis.

The Durban side is expected to announce seven new players. They have already signed former Bloemfontein Celtic fullback James Madidilani and nippy Jomo Cosmos midfielder Sbusiso Hadebe.
