The goals were both scored by Russel Mlotshwa in the second-half.
The opening minutes of this contest saw the sides feel each other out.
The first effort on target came from the visitors in the 13th minute when their well travelled striker Sibusiso Zuma curled a free-kick from just outside the Arrows penalty area, but goalkeeper Helton Da Rocha was able to gather comfortably.
A few minutes later, Vasco went even closer when Masibusane Zongo fired in a bending free-kick from the right channel which clipped the outside of the Arrows goal posts.
An ambitious strike from distance by Arrows midfielder Philani Shange which flew just of the mark was all the home side could muster.
But Arrows upped the ante in the second half and the rewards followed. Eight minutes into this stanza of play, Russel Mlotshwa prodded home during a scramble in the Vasco goal area.
Shange sent a probing cross from the left flank into the opposing goal area which Vasco keeper Jason Barnard failed to gather cleanly and, during the ensuing mix-up between Barnard and defender Rueben Tsotetsi, the alert Mlotshwa pounced.
Ten minutes later, Shange should have doubled Arrows lead when he had only Barnard to beat but the keeper was able keep out the midfielder’s thumping drive.
Mlotshwa, who joined Arrows from Vodacom League side Island FC, further endeared himself to the local supporters when he belted home another effort beyond the reach of Barnard which stretched Arrows lead further. Creative midfielder Siyabonga Nkosi played a pivotal role in the build up to that goal.
