Gamondi leaves Agadir

Gamondi had a disappointing start to the season with Agadir, gaining mostly draws and losing twice.

“We struggled to score,” Gamondi admits, “despite playing nice football and having the upper hand in most games. But if you can‘t score, you can’t win and that’s what happened.”

Agadir is no longer the club it was in 2002 and 2003 when they became Moroccan champions twice.

Nowadays, the club has little funds and, as a result, doesn’t have a great side.

Gamondi joined Agadir in early January. The Argentinean, together with Neil Tovey, led Sundowns to the 2006 PSL title.

However, they were unceremoniously fired early into the following season after a slow start.

They were replaced by Gordon Igesund.

“The working conditions were at Agadir were poor, basically due a lack of funds,” the Argentinean coach adds.

“So I felt that it was better to stop and wait for new and better opportunity.”
